Preparation
- Preheat the oven according to the sugar cookie dough package instructions and bake the cookies.
- Allow the cookies to cool completely.
Decoration
- Use royal icing or frosting to attach chocolate candies to the cookie to form the turkey's body.
- Add candy corn for feathers by sticking them into the top of the cookie.
- Use icing to attach candy eyes if desired.
- Let everything set before serving.
Notes
Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for 2–3 days. For longer storage, freeze them in a single layer on a tray, then move to a freezer bag. Thaw at room temperature before serving. To ensure decorations stick better, let cookies cool fully before adding frosting. Use a small amount of frosting as glue; too much will run.
