Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Peel and cut the sweet potatoes into chunks.
  3. Boil the sweet potato chunks in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
  4. After boiling, drain the sweet potatoes and let them cool for a short while.
Baking
  1. Place the sweet potato chunks on a baking sheet and smash them down with a fork or the palm of your hand until they are flattened.
  2. Drizzle olive oil over the smashed potatoes. Season them with salt, pepper, and chili flakes.
  3. Bake for about 20-25 minutes, or until they become crispy and golden.
  4. Finally, drizzle with maple syrup before serving to add that sweet touch.
