  • 2 tbsp fresh dill, chopped Reserve a small amount for garnish.
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice About half a lemon.
  • 1 tbsp capers, drained For that distinctive briny bite.
  • 1/4 small red onion, finely chopped Adds subtle sharpness.
  • 1 tsp lemon zest Avoid the bitter white pith.

  1. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, dill, lemon juice, capers, red onion, and lemon zest. Mix thoroughly until smooth.

  2. Spread a generous amount of cream cheese mixture onto each cracker or blini.
  3. Top with 2-3 slices of smoked salmon, arranging it attractively.

Notes

Serve with a crisp, mineral-driven white wine for the best pairing. Enjoy as a standalone appetizer or with a light salad for a more substantial meal.
