Preparation
- Place the chicken breasts in the slow cooker.
- Add the BBQ sauce, sliced onion, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours until the chicken is tender.
- Shred the chicken with two forks and mix it well with the sauce.
Serving
- Serve the shredded BBQ chicken on toasted hamburger buns, topped with coleslaw if desired.
Notes
Cool the chicken to room temperature within two hours and store in an airtight container. Can be stored in the fridge for up to 3-4 days or frozen for up to 3 months. Reheat with a splash of water or additional BBQ sauce. For extra flavor, consider adding a splash of apple cider vinegar or brown sugar.
