Ingredients
  

For the glaze
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce Low sodium option can be used.
  • 1/4 cup honey Adjust sweetness to taste.
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch For thickening the sauce.
  • 1 tablespoon water To mix with cornstarch.
For the chicken
  • 8 pieces chicken drumsticks Skin-on, bone-in preferred.
For garnish
  • Sesame seeds For garnish.
  • Green onions, sliced For garnish.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil to create the glaze.
  2. Place chicken drumsticks in the slow cooker and pour the glaze over them.
Cooking
  1. Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
  2. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water to create a slurry. Stir it into the slow cooker during the last 30 minutes to thicken the sauce.
  3. Once done, remove chicken from the slow cooker and serve garnished with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.

Notes

For best flavor, marinate chicken in the glaze for a few hours or overnight. You can also add vegetables like bell peppers or broccoli during cooking for a complete meal.
