  • 1 pound shaved steak (ribeye, sirloin, or flank steak) Choose your preferred cut for best flavor.
For Seasoning and Marinades
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce Marinade for extra flavor.
  • 1 clove garlic (minced) Enhances the flavor of the steak.
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil For cooking.
For the Philly Cheesesteak
  • 1 medium onion (sliced) Caramelized for sweetness.
  • 1 medium bell pepper (sliced) Adds color and flavor.
  • 4 slices cheese (provolone or American) Melted on top of the steak.
  • 4 pieces hoagie rolls For serving the cheesesteaks.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Partially freeze the steak for easier slicing.
  2. Slice the steak thinly against the grain.
  3. Marinate the steak with soy sauce and minced garlic for at least 10 minutes.
Cooking
  1. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
  2. Add sliced onions and bell peppers; caramelize them for about 5 minutes.
  3. Increase the heat, add the marinated shaved steak, and cook for 2-3 minutes until browned.
  4. Top with cheese slices and cover to melt, 1-2 minutes.
  5. Serve in hoagie rolls.
