  • 6 pieces eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (e.g., cheddar or swiss) Mix of cheddar and swiss is recommended.
  • 1 cup cooked ham or bacon (optional) Use for added flavor or skip for a meat-free version.
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional) Add more for a sweeter version.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, salt, and pepper.
  3. In a greased baking dish, layer the torn croissant pieces.
  4. Pour the egg mixture over the croissants, ensuring they are well soaked.
  5. Sprinkle the shredded cheese, cooked meat (if using), and green onions on top.
  6. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
Baking
  1. In the morning, bake uncovered for 30-35 minutes or until the casserole is puffed and golden.
  2. Serve warm and enjoy your delicious breakfast!

Notes

Cool the casserole to room temperature before storing. Cover tightly and store in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the microwave or oven.
