Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
- In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
- Rub the spice mixture generously over the beef ribs.
- Place the ribs in a baking dish and pour the beef broth or water into the pan.
- Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil.
Cooking
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 3 hours, until the ribs are tender.
- Remove the foil and broil for an additional 5-10 minutes to caramelize the top, if desired.
Serving
- Serve hot with mashed potatoes, rice, or roasted vegetables. Optional to slice the ribs and spoon some pan juices over them.
Notes
Pat the ribs dry before rubbing for better flavor adherence. If more sauce is desired, add additional broth or barbecue sauce before baking. Check at 2.5 hours if your oven runs hot, cooking until fork-tender.
