Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 500 g Beef (with some fat)
  • 3 tbsp Oil
  • 2 medium Onion, sliced
  • 2 medium Tomatoes, chopped
  • 1.5 tbsp Ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 pieces Green chillies, slit
  • 2 tbsp Curd (optional but adds richness)
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric
  • 1 tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp Spicy red chilli powder (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tbsp Coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp Garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper
  • to taste Salt
  • as needed Water
  • Fresh coriander (for garnish)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Heat oil in a pressure cooker.
  2. Add sliced onions and sauté until golden brown.
  3. Add ginger-garlic paste and green chillies. Cook until raw smell goes.
  4. Add chopped tomatoes and cook until mushy.
Cooking
  1. Add turmeric, chilli powders, coriander powder, cumin powder, and salt. Cook until the masala releases oil.
  2. Add the cleaned beef and mix well with the masala.
  3. Add curd (optional) and fry on high flame for 5-7 minutes.
  4. Cook until the beef releases moisture and the masala coats well.
  5. Add 1-1.5 cups water and pressure cook on medium flame for 5-6 whistles.
  6. Let pressure release naturally.
  7. Open the lid and check consistency. Simmer to thicken gravy if needed.
  8. Add garam masala and crushed pepper. Garnish with coriander.

Notes

Use beef with some fat for more flavor. Brown the onions well for deeper color and taste. Adjust water to prefer gravy thickness.
