Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground beef use lean beef for less grease
  • 8 oz elbow macaroni cooked according to package instructions
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce any brand works
  • 1 cup beef broth for richer flavor
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion optional for more flavor
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced for added aroma
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning or to taste
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Grated cheese for topping (optional) adds a delicious finish

Method
 

Cooking the Beef and Sauce
  1. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and sauté until onion is translucent.
  3. Stir in the tomato sauce, beef broth, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer.
Cooking the Pasta
  1. Cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions; drain and add to the skillet.
  2. Stir well to combine and heat through.

Notes

Cool to room temperature before storing. It's best enjoyed hot, topped with grated cheese.
