Method
 

Browning the Steaks
  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Season the cube steaks with salt and pepper, then add them to the skillet.
  3. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until browned.
  4. Remove the steaks from the skillet and set aside.
Making the Gravy
  1. In the same skillet, add the sliced onions and sauté until they are soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
  2. Sprinkle the flour over the onions and stir to combine.
  3. Gradually add the beef broth, stirring constantly, until the gravy thickens.
Final Cooking
  1. Return the cube steaks to the skillet, cover, and let simmer for another 5-10 minutes.
  2. Serve warm with the onion gravy over the top.

Notes

Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or simple vegetables. For a fuller plate, consider baked potatoes with crispy broccoli and bacon or a green salad. Cool leftovers and refrigerate for up to 3 days.
