Ingredients
  

Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs at room temperature
Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Mix-ins
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
Mixing Dry Ingredients
  1. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  2. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
Adding Chocolate Chips
  1. Fold in the chocolate chips.
Baking
  1. Drop by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased baking sheets.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 9 to 11 minutes, or until golden brown.
  3. Remove from oven and let cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.

Notes

For a variation, add chopped nuts like walnuts or pecans. Store cookies in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
