  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water
Ganache
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a bundt pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla to the dry ingredients and mix until smooth.
  4. Carefully stir in boiling water until well combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan.
Baking
  1. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  2. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Ganache Preparation
  1. In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream until it just begins to simmer.
  2. Pour the hot cream over the chopped chocolate and let it sit for a minute, then stir until smooth.
  3. Once the cake is cooled, drizzle the ganache over the top and let it set before serving.

Notes

Grease and flour the bundt pan well so the cake releases cleanly. Use boiling water to help make the batter thin and the cake moist.
