  • 1 pound ground beef Make sure to drain excess fat after cooking.
  • 1 can refried beans Regular or vegetarian option.
  • 1 cup shredded cheese Cheddar or your choice.
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder Adjust according to spice preference.
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 4 large flour tortillas Warm tortillas before filling.
Optional Toppings
  • sour cream For serving.
  • salsa For serving.
  • diced onions For serving.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
  2. Stir in refried beans, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined and heated through.
Assembly
  1. Lay tortillas flat and divide the beef and bean mixture among them.
  2. Top with shredded cheese.
  3. Roll the tortillas tightly to form burritos.
Serving
  1. Serve the burritos hot with optional toppings such as sour cream, salsa, or diced onions.

Notes

Cool any leftover burritos to room temperature. Wrap them in foil or plastic wrap and keep in the fridge for up to 3 days. To freeze, wrap tightly and place in a freezer bag for up to 2 months. Reheat in the oven or microwave until hot inside. For extra cheesiness, add cheese inside and on top of the burrito.
