Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 1/3 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
Wet Ingredients
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/3 cup butter, softened
Topping (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon parsley
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the flour, cheddar cheese, baking powder, garlic powder, salt, and parsley.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the milk, egg, and softened butter.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until a sticky dough forms. If the dough is too dry, add a splash of milk.
  5. Drop 8-10 mounds of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, about 2 inches apart.
Baking
  1. Bake for 12-14 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, mix the topping ingredients (melted butter, parsley, and garlic powder) in a small bowl.
  3. Brush each biscuit with the topping and return to the oven for an additional 5 minutes.

Notes

Serve warm for best taste. They are perfect with soup, salad, pasta, or seafood.
