Preparation
- Pat the ribeye steaks dry with paper towels and let them come to room temperature for about 30 minutes.
- Season both sides of the steaks with salt and black pepper.
Cooking
- Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the ribeye steaks to the skillet and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
- In the last minute of cooking, add the butter and minced garlic to the skillet.
- Spoon the melted butter over the steaks as they finish cooking.
- Remove from heat, let rest for a few minutes, then serve warm.
Notes
Slice the steak against the grain for the best texture. Good sides are mashed potatoes, a simple salad, or steamed vegetables. Cool leftover steak to room temperature before refrigerating in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
