  • 1 pound ground beef Brown until fully cooked.
  • 1 medium onion, diced Combine with ground beef.
  • 1 cup pickles, chopped Add to the mixture.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Use freshly shredded for better melt.
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese Use freshly shredded for better melt.
  • 2 cups cooked macaroni Ensure it's not soggy if using frozen.
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise Can substitute with Greek yogurt for a lighter option.
  • 1/4 cup ketchup Serve with extra on the side.
  • 1 tablespoon mustard Part of the sauce mix.
  • to taste Salt and pepper Adjust according to preference.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef and diced onion over medium heat until fully cooked; drain excess fat.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the cooked beef mixture, pickles, macaroni, cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, salt, and pepper.
Baking
  1. Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish and spread it evenly.
  2. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serving
  1. Serve warm in bowls and top with pieces of sesame seed burger buns.

Notes

Cool the casserole before storing. Store in the fridge for 3 to 4 days, or freeze for up to 2 months. Thaw in the fridge overnight before reheating. Use freshly shredded cheese and adjust seasoning as needed.
