Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground beef Use lean ground beef for less fat.
  • 4 cups beef broth Preferably low sodium.
  • 2 cups egg noodles You can substitute with dried pasta.
  • 1 cup heavy cream For a lighter version, use half-and-half.
Vegetables and Seasoning
  • 1 each onion, chopped Adds sweetness to the dish.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Fresh garlic enhances flavor.
  • to taste Salt Adjust seasoning as needed.
  • to taste Pepper Freshly ground is best.
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce Adds depth of flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil For sautéing.
Garnish
  • to taste Chopped parsley For garnish.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until softened.
  3. Add ground beef, breaking it up with a spoon, and cook until browned.
  4. Season with salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce.
Cooking
  1. Pour in the beef broth and bring to a simmer.
  2. Add egg noodles and cook according to package instructions until tender.
  3. Once the noodles are cooked, stir in the heavy cream and mix well.
  4. Adjust seasoning to taste.
Serving
  1. Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley.

Notes

Brown the beef well for better flavor. If the sauce is too thin, cook a few extra minutes to reduce. If too thick, add a little broth. Stir in cream off the heat to prevent curdling.
