  • 2 ripe bananas 2 ripe bananas, mashed Make sure they are ripe for sweetness.
  • 1 cup 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup 1/2 cup butter, softened Ensure butter is softened for easy mixing.
  • 1 large 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup 1 cup chocolate chips

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, cream together the mashed bananas and softened butter.
  3. Add sugar, egg, and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a greased baking sheet.
Baking
  1. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  2. Allow to cool on a wire rack before serving.

Notes

These cookies are best enjoyed warm or at room temperature. For storage, keep in an airtight container at room temperature for about a week or freeze in a single layer for up to three months.
