  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 lean-to-fat ratio) Use 80/20 ground beef for good flavor and a bit of fat.
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce, naturally brewed Use low-sodium soy sauce to reduce salt if desired.
  • 1 tbsp grated fresh ginger Grate fresh ginger for best taste.
  • 1/4 tsp white pepper powder
  • 1 cup water Add more if using leaner beef.
  • 6 oz vermicelli noodles Break them a little if your pan is small.

Method
 

Cooking
  1. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked.
  2. Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in soy sauce, ginger, white pepper, and water.
  4. Bring to a simmer.
  5. Add vermicelli noodles and cook until they are tender, stirring to combine with the beef mixture.
  6. Serve hot and enjoy.

Notes

Serve this dish hot from the pan. Add chopped green onions on top for color and mild taste. Drizzle with sesame oil or a squeeze of lime for extra brightness. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 1 month.
