  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Wet Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped apples
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Glaze
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. In another bowl, combine melted butter, eggs, and vanilla. Mix dry ingredients with wet mixture until just combined.
  4. Fold in chopped apples and walnuts. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
Baking
  1. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  2. Let the bread cool for a few minutes before removing it from the pan.
Glazing
  1. For the glaze, mix powdered sugar with milk until smooth. Drizzle over the cooled bread before serving.

Notes

Slice the bread and serve at room temperature. It pairs well with butter, cream cheese, or a hot cup of tea or coffee. Wrap cooled bread in plastic wrap for storage or place in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Freeze slices for longer storage.
