Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut into squares (about 4-6 inches).
- In a bowl, mix diced apples, sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, and flour until well combined.
- Place a spoonful of the apple mixture in the center of each puff pastry square.
- Fold the pastry over to form a triangle and seal the edges with a fork.
- Beat the egg with milk to make an egg wash and brush it over the tops of the turnovers.
Baking
- Place the turnovers on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Serve warm, optionally adding a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a light dusting of powdered sugar. Pairs well with hot cider or coffee.
