  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Plus extra for dusting
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened Use room temperature for best results
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 large egg Use room temperature for best results
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Filling Ingredients
  • 2 cups apples, peeled and diced Chop small for best results
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
Icing Ingredients
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add softened butter to the dry ingredients and mix until crumbly.
  4. Stir in milk, egg, and vanilla until a dough forms.
  5. Roll the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle.
  6. In another bowl, mix diced apples with cinnamon and brown sugar; spread over the rolled dough.
  7. Roll the dough tightly from one long side to form a log and slice into rolls.
Baking
  1. Place rolls in a greased baking dish.
  2. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden and cooked through.
  3. While baking, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla for icing.
  4. Drizzle icing over warm cinnamon rolls before serving.

Notes

Serve warm; drizzle extra icing or add a scoop of vanilla ice cream for dessert.
