Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg Can swap with cardamom for a different flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon flour Optional for thickening if mixture is watery.
For the rolls
  • 1 can refrigerated cinnamon rolls Use the icing provided or homemade.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven according to the cinnamon roll package instructions.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the diced apples, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and optional flour.
  3. Roll out the refrigerated cinnamon roll dough on a flat surface.
  4. Spread the apple mixture evenly over the dough.
  5. Roll the dough back up and cut it into individual rolls.
  6. Place the rolls into a greased baking dish.
  7. Bake according to package instructions until golden brown.
  8. Drizzle icing over warm rolls before serving.

Notes

Serve rolls warm and add extra icing if desired. They pair well with coffee, tea, or milk.
