Main Ingredients
  • 4 pieces hot dog buns
  • 4 pieces hot dogs Frozen hot dogs can be used, just cook longer.
  • 8 slices cheddar cheese Feel free to substitute with preferred cheese.
  • 2 tablespoons butter Must be softened for easy spreading.
Toppings
  • Ketchup
  • Mustard
  • Relish
  • Onions

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Set your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and preheat for 3 minutes.
  2. Place the hot dogs in the air fryer basket and cook for 4-5 minutes until heated through and slightly crispy.
  3. Butter the inside and outside of each hot dog bun generously.
  4. Place one slice of cheese inside each bun, add the cooked hot dog, and cover with another slice of cheese.
Cooking
  1. Carefully place the assembled buns back into the air fryer basket.
  2. Cook at 375°F for 4-6 minutes until buns are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
Serving
  1. Remove from the air fryer and add desired toppings like ketchup, mustard, relish, or onions.
  2. Serve hot and enjoy your gooey, crispy grilled cheese hot dogs!

Notes

Cool to room temperature, then wrap in foil or store in an airtight container. Refrigerate for up to 2 days. Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F for 3-5 minutes until warm.
