  • 2 cups self-rising flour Make sure it is self-rising flour.
  • 1 cup sour cream Full-fat sour cream works best.
  • 1/2 cup 7-Up soda Any lemon-lime soda can be used.
  • 1/2 cup butter Melted; divided.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the self-rising flour and sour cream until a dough forms.
  3. Gently fold in the 7-Up soda.
  4. Melt the butter and mix half into the dough.
  5. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently.
  6. Roll out and cut into biscuits.
  7. Place the biscuits on a baking sheet and brush the tops with the remaining melted butter.
Baking
  1. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

Serve warm and split with butter, honey, or jam. These biscuits pair well with soup, fried chicken, or breakfast eggs. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 days or freeze for 1 month.
